World Council for Travel and Tourism (WTTC ) listed Montenegro in the first place among the 184 countries where tourism is a strategic economic sector , according to the foretasted growth rate of tourism in 2014.

From the Montenegrin Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism are told that Montenegro is ranked first by the expected rate of growth in the next ten year period .

According to the WTTC , direct and indirect contribution of travel and tourism gross domestic product (GDP) in Montenegro amounted to 714.2 million euros , or 20 percent of GDP last year . For this year the forecast revenue growth of 13.2 percent and growth of 8.8 percent a year on average over the next 10 years, or 37.2 percent of GDP in the 2024th year , it said in the Ministry

Montenegro first among 184 countries of growth in tourism.

Tourist development of the country , they added , is focused on attracting foreign investment in order to ensure long-term tourism development , and successfully valuation end some attractive locations of the Montenegrin coast .

Investments in tourism and travel in the last year , according to the WTTC report , amounted to 208.3 million euros , or 28 percent of total investment , and of 2014. is projected to grow by 14.3 percent .

For the next ten-year period is forecast investment growth of 8.7 percent a year on average , or 549.6 million euros in the 2024th year , or 52.3 percent of total investment.

The Ministry said they were last year, tourism and travel directly have generated 14,500 jobs , or 8.8 percent of total employment .

WTTC has ranked Montenegro and 135 place the absolute size of income from tourism last year , and the 36th place according to the amount of contribution to GDP.
